What drives your live? What's
your motto? What is most important to you? How will you measure your life?
This week I had the opportunity
to reflect and give answer to those questions.
I am originally from El Salvador,
and there is a saying that says, “Even food is not good if you are eating it by
obligation” We can use the same analogy with life when sometimes people must do
certain things everyday because there is bigger obligation or certain
responsibilities to accomplish.
Why do you wake up every morning?
What drives your life? Do you enjoy your job? Or you show up to work because it
pays your bills?
One important thing I have learned in life is GROWTH MINDSET. Our type
of mindset shapes the way we see the world. Maybe the job you are having now is
the the best or it is not your dream job, however, it helps you make a living and
gives you the opportunity to become self-sufficient meanwhile you are working
on getting more education or shaping your ideas to start your career or your
own business, and for instance, your current job is a necessary trampoline that
will provide you with the necessary means to work on your dreams.
The other point that was
discussed this week is the fact that many more people nowadays sacrifice their
more precious things in life for other type of success that at the end of the
day, it is only related with material things. Material things provide a very
limited amount of happiness. “No other success in life can compensate for
failure in the home” (David O. Mackay). It is more obvious that more people
would prefer temporary success rather than eternal and sweet family relationships.
Another important lesson was to
learn that “Managing the minute is the secret of success” (Joseph B. Wirthlin) How
do you build your success? Minute by minute!
Thanks for reading my weekly
post!
